Ken's Comparadun Hex

Ken's Comparadun Hex

This month's fly is the Ken's Comparadun Hex. The fly was created by Ken Grimes of New Hampshire. Ken is one of our tiers, doing most of the streamers and Tandems. The pattern was created in the 1990's and is a popular pattern used throughout New England. Ken tells me that one year at it's peak he tied 100 dozen of these large flies for sale from Vermont to Maine.

Hook - # 8 streamer

Thread - strong brown

Tail - brown hair from a yellow bucktail

Body - yellow floating yarn, marked with brown permanent marker
